Some vocalists like to sing songs ALL THE WAY through repeating them over and over without stopping to fix the little mistakes. Others work very DETAILED through each song phrase-by-phrase. In reality we need a good balance of BOTH of these practice methods.
Take the time to work through trouble spots slowly and carefully. This is the most effective way to break bad old habits and create good new ones.
And remember, you also need to practice the stamina involved in singing songs all the way through. Rehearse your song in its entirety without stopping to help you learn to deliver confident, committed, and consistent performances - even if you do make small mistakes along the way.
Practice with a combination of both approaches and there’s no stopping your progress!
